I am getting a lot of calls from employers regarding whether or not they can make vaccination compulsory.

The short answer to this is that it depends on the nature of the business (e.g. health care), whether or not there has been a reasonable COVID programme introduced and whether or not there has been consultation in respect of inoculations. i.e. what do policy and procedure say?

vaccine needle jab shotRemember that people do not want vaccinations for a variety of reasons including underlying health conditions and religious reasons and you do not want to be seen as being discriminatory.

There are very few places that require mandatory vaccination at this stage, but this may change if the outbreak deepens as overseas jurisdictions have demonstrated it may well.

There is plenty of website material on these subjects so keep watch as the situation evolves and get good advice.
