Getting fringe benefit tax right

Fringe benefit tax (FBT) can be seen as a complicated and confusing tax for people to understand and calculate accurately.

During October, the IRD is running a campaign to help taxpayers avoid unintentional errors and make sure they’re making the correct FBT payments. You may have seen some of the digital ads from 3 October.

From 11 October, the IRD will also be sending letters to their FBT customers or their tax agents (if a mail redirect is in place).
