New COVID Protection Framework

Last week the government announced that District Health Boards have to reach a 90% double vaccination rate before restrictions in Auckland and the rest of the company would be eased.

traffic lightsOnce achieved a new COVID-19 protection framework — Red, Orange and Green like the Traffic Lights — would be introduced to allow certain freedoms. This will replace the old Alert System.

Fifth COVID Wage Subsidy

Just a reminder you have until 28 October 2021 to apply for the fifth wage subsidy.

A business must have at least a 40% decrease in revenue because of Alert level 3 or 4. 

Applications can be made online at Work and Income.

New Resurgence Support Payment

From 12 November 2021 the following changes will occur in the Resurgence Support Payment:

  1. The payment will be fortnightly
  2. Businesses will receive $3,000 per business plus $800 per full-time employee (FTE), up to 50 FTE
  3. The maximum fortnightly payment is $43,000 
  4. If you are self-employed or a sole trader you can receive a payment of $3,800

Eligibility criteria remain the same. Businesses must experience at least a 30% decline in revenue due to Alert Level 3 or 4.

Applications will be able to be made online at the IRD through myIR.
