This package contains a range of practical advice and planning ideas for businesses to consider in the lead up to the end of the financial year on March 31.

Also included is our new Alliott Tax Calendar which is a laminated quick reference guide for key tax info for the 2011 income year.

The annual accounts and tax questionnaire will also be sent to you in the next few weeks.

Watch your email inbox as we are sending them electronically this year.

We know that year end is a busy time of year for all – please let us know if we can help in any way.

ANNUAL PLANS

Some form of strategic planning is essential for all businesses that want to improve their long term financial performance.

A good external adviser such as Alliott’s can often help in achieving a fresh perspective when writing a strategic business plan.

We can come up with imaginative ideas for growth and strategy as well as facilitating discussions to help you to evaluate options. We can also ask searching questions about your business which stimulates creative thinking and helps you find your own solutions.

As your accountants, Alliott’s can help with much more than just preparation of your financial statements.

We can assist in many of the areas that will enable your business to achieve long-term financial success.

These include preparing cash-flow forecasts, budgets and business plans, minimising your tax burden and helping you to maximise the opportunities for raising finance.

To find out more call Greg Millar or Vanessa Williams on (09) 520 9200 or email Alliott's here.

BUSINESS FUNDING AND GRANTS

Many New Zealand businesses, especially new or growing ones, need extra investment from time to time.

If your business has potential, or you're developing a new product, expanding into new markets, carrying out research, or looking to employ extra staff, you may be eligible for financial help such as grants from Government or industry organisations.

One example of Government assistance is the single fund offered by New Zealand Trade and Enterprise to assist New Zealand businesses growing globally.

It is a flexible grant and is perfect for those businesses with high growth potential or with an established global presence wanting to expand their operations.

The current round of funding ends on June 30, 2010 so if you are considering applying for assistance now is great time to talk to Greg Millar or Vanessa Williams about help in preparing funding applications or sourcing grants.

In 2009 two Alliott clients were recipients of generous funding allowances to help their businesses grow - there may be similar opportunities available for you.

CLIENT SUCCESS STORIES

It’s always pleasing to hear of clients who are doing well and receiving positive press.

In recent months Alliott clients who have been in the news are –

AllTeams – an innovative company creating web solutions and social networks for sports clubs in NZ which was selected by the UK government to develop a social media website that would encourage more UK children to play sport.

Congratulations to these clients on their success – if you have any positive stories that you would like to share please email Alliott's here.
