According to AIG’s Life Matters survey the number of New Zealanders taking out income protection insurance has doubled since 2007.  The survey which is conducted every two years found that, for the first time since the survey began, the threat of redundancy was rated as a higher risk compared with any other health issues.

This concern is reflected in the 77% increase in income protection insurance policies. Almost 1/4 of Kiwis now have income protection compared with 13% in 2005 and 2007.
